INTRODUCTION.
Nehemiah’s work on the wall had started well. Authorization had been given, materials had been provided, and the workers had been motivated to work. Whenever we undertake a project that’s glorifying to God, we can expect opposition. Opposition has many faces. It can come from fellow believers, from non-Christians, or from the devil himself; but we can always know that God is ultimately the one who fights for us. In this week’s lesson, we learn how the work was threatened by enemies and what Nehemiah and his company did to meet this threat.
