"a son of the right hand" Benjamite means a "of Benjamin" and Benjamin (ben = son + yamin = right hand) means son of the right hand. The phrase left-handed man literally reads that Ehud was "hindered (bound or handicapped) in the right hand" an ironic situation for a descendant of the tribe of Benjamin which means "son of my right hand"!
