PRACTICAL POINTS FOR DISCUSSION:

1. Doing God’s work does not mean that we won’t face opposition (Nehemiah 4:1).

2. Opposition to God’s work can come in many ways, but the believer must withstand them all (Nehemiah 4:2-3).

3. When faced with opposition, always remember to pray (Nehemiah 4:4-5; Psalms 34:4, 6).

4. Persevering in the work God has called us to do will take us even farther than our ability (Nehemiah 4:6).

5. The enemies of God are activists; they will oppose the work of God’s people in any way they can (Nehemiah 4:7-8).

6. Prayer should accompany all our efforts to serve the LORD, but it must never replace those efforts (Nehemiah 4:9).
