INTRODUCTION. This week’s lesson brings us to the burning bush in the desert where God called Moses to lead Israel out of Egyptian bondage. As is typical of God’s dealings with human problems, He sought His leader in a most unlikely place. Having previously been exiled from Egypt and having spent forty years in the desert of Midian (see Acts 7:23-30), Moses could not imagine himself as a leader, but the LORD had plans to use him for His glory and Israel’s good. God’s reassurance to Moses should encourage us when we are tempted to focus only on our inadequacies.
