INTRODUCTION.
During the second year after leaving Egyptian slavery, the Israelites were on the borders of the Promised Land and they had to make some very important choices that would affect the outcome of a very long journey in the wilderness. God had been with them thus far and was now preparing them for the final phase. Our lesson this week follows Numbers chapter 13 which dealt with the return of the twelve spies and the two different reports of what they found when they explored the Promised Land. It reveals how the people rebelled in response to the negative report from ten of the spies.
